Welcome to my new home

Greetings.

Tonight is my last night as the head of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel copy desk. I've taken a buyout after 19 years at the paper, moving on to the next phase of my work life.

In the short-term, I'll be teaching editing part time at Northwestern University, my alma mater. And I'll have more time to write about editing and language, time that's been very short as I've managed a lot of change at the newspaper in the last few months.

So you can find me here now, but there will be a link from Words to the Wise at www.jsonline.com/blogs/language for at least a little while.

I'm headed out on two weeks of well-earned vacation, so expect more frequent postings after I return. Topic suggestions are always welcome.
